Reducing stress in children after a divorce

It is believed by some child experts that children in New Jersey and elsewhere experience increased stress when they live with both parents in a shared custody arrangement after a divorce. However, research recently published in the Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health suggests that this may not be the case. Instead, children may actually benefit from spending time living with both of their parents. The research involved 150,000 12-year-old and 15-year-old children in Sweden.

Child support puts poor into unending loop

New Jersey parents who are behind on their child support payments should be aware that the measures that can be taken to enforce the court order can include jail time. In addition to incarceration, states have the authority to garnish a certain percentage of a delinquent parent's wages and to revoke or refuse to renew his or her driver's license as well as some professional licenses.

Understanding the tax issues surrounding alimony payments

New Jersey couples who are interested in divorce legal issues may wish to know more about alimony. Without this information, spouses may have difficulty understanding how their taxes may be affected by these payments.

The types of domestic violence

An unfortunately large number of households in New Jersey must endure domestic violence and all that it entails. These situations are uniformly negative and traumatic for everyone involved, including the abuser, but it is usually understood that the first task is to protect and defend those who are being abused.

Honored as a "Best of New Jersey Among our Most Distinguished Americans of Italian Descent" and conferred the "Stivale D'Italia Award of Excellence" by the Italian Tribune for her "honesty, integrity and dedication to fair and ethical business practices" and her "outstanding reputation as a Woman Whose Word is Her Bond".
